Originally from Green Bay, WI, Cary completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University. She attended medical school at the New York University School of Medicine before completing her residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Prior to establishing , Cary completed a Geriatrics Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Carroll is married, has two children, and enjoys morning runs to start her day.
